These Terms and Conditions and all transactions with Quiltessential are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any matters arising.

security and personal data - website orders

In order for you to purchase goods from us over the internet you will be required to provide personal data. This information will be used to process your order and payment, to notify you that your order has been despatched and to communicate with you if there is a problem with your order. We need to keep a record of this data for business accounting purposes. At Checkout, you will be asked if you want to receive emails from us with news about products and services. These emails will be infrequent and your email address will not be visible to other recipients. If you have given your permission and subsequently ask to be removed from our email list, we will honour your request.

contact details

We use an established, recognised shopping cart service provider - RomanCart - to process and store your name, address, phone number, email address and, for security purposes, the IP address of the device submitting the order. This contact information is stored securely on our behalf by RomanCart. The RomanCart system is secured by VeriSign EV SGC SSL certificates. payment card details

We do not receive or store any of your payment card information. We use a recognised, payment card processing service provider - WorldPay - to process and store your payment card details. WorldPay uses the latest state-of-the-art encryption technology to protect your card details during transmission over the internet. Your card details are stored whilst the transaction is processed in accordance with the Payment Card Data Industry Security Standards. For further details visit WorlPay's website: www.worldpay.com.

billing and delivery address

In order to minimise the risk of credit card fraud we only despatch goods to the address to which the payment card is registered. If we suspect that a card may have been used fraudulently we will not process the payment or despatch the goods and we will notify the police and credit card company concerned.

You must ensure that you enter your address information accurately. We do not refund shipping charges if parcels are returned to us through no fault of our own. This includes the failure of the recipient to sign for the parcel on delivery or if the address provided by the customer cannot be found by the delivery company.

If you email us to order goods from us we need to collect personal data about you. This will include your name, address and phone number.

To process an email order we will create an invoice through Romancart, our shopping cart provider, in order that you can pay for the goods securely via Romancart's website. Your card details will be processed in the same, secure way as If you had placed an order on line via our website.

If you wish to contact us electronically using our website contact form you will be required to provide personal data including your name, phone number and email address. This information is required for us to be able to repond to you in the most appropriate way. The contact form information you provide is transmitted via our website, which is hosted by Ionos (https://www.https://www.ionos.co.uk/) on their secure servers and has enhanced security provided by SSL Certificate and SiteLock anti-malware protection. We receive the form information from the Ionos server as an email, which we read and respond to on devices protected by Norton security software. We will only contact you in reponse to your enquiry and you will not be added to any database or mailing list unless you request this.

Your personal information is processed and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and we will not divulge any of your details to any other person or business. We may, however, be required to divulge details for law enforcement purposes if requested to do so by an appropriate authority.

We work very hard to ensure that the product photographs on this website are accurate representations. However, we must point out that the image you see on your computer monitor or mobile device may vary slightly in colour or tone from that seen on someone else's due to variations in computer hardware and software such as the colour, contrast and brightness settings on your screen or the ambient light in the place you are viewing it.

Images representing a fat quarter or a fabric panel show a typical sample. We cannot guarantee that every fat quarter will be cut in exactly the same place as the sample photographed. Similarly, when a panel is a pattern repeat cut from a continuous length of fabric we cannot guarantee that the top and bottom of the cut piece will be in exactly the same place as the photographed example.

We endeavour to offer only products that we have in stock but, from time to time, a website order may be placed for an out of stock item. In these circumstances, before the order is processed, the customer will be contacted and offered an alternative product, a refund for the value of the out of stock item or the option to cancel the entire order.

By placing an order on this website you, the customer, are making an offer to Quiltessential to purchase the advertised products at the listed price and give Quiltessential authority to despatch those products and take payment from your credit/debit card.

When you conclude your order you will be required to submit your credit/debit card details and contact information via a secure server. Payment will be debited automatically from your payment card at this time and you will receive an e-mail from Quiltessential confirming receipt of your order. This e-mail is an acknowledgement that we have received your order: it does not confirm our acceptance of your offer to buy the product(s) ordered. We only accept your offer when we conclude the contract of sale by despatching the product(s) to you. At this time we will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have despatched the goods.

Quiltessential reserve the right to decline your offer to purchase goods from us without giving a reason. In these circumstances we will notify you by email of our decision to decline your order and any payment already taken from your credit/debit card will be refunded to the same card within 7 days of receipt of the order.

Quiltessential accept no liability for any consequential loss that the customer may suffer due to delays in shipping or should, for any reason, the ordered goods not be despatched.

14 day returns and cancellation policy

If you change your mind about your purchase you may cancel the order and return the goods to us provided you comply with the conditions stated below and you do this within 14 days of receiving the goods. You do not have to give a reason for returning the goods but you must notify us in writing, during this 14 day period, of your intention to do this. You can notify us by post or by completing and submitting our online form.

Please include your contact details in any communications, including email address and telephone number together with details of your order and what items you intend to return. We will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your notification.

If you return goods, you are responsible for the full cost of returning them to Quiltessential. It is your responsibility to ensure that they are returned with adequate packaging and postage. Quiltessential accepts no liability for returned goods that do not reach us because they have inadequate postage or because they are 'lost in the post'. We therefore recommend you obtain 'proof of posting' and ensure the postage method you use includes adequate compensation for non-delivery.

Goods must be returned to us unused and in a good, re-saleable condition. We will only refund the value of the goods we receive back in a re-saleable condition plus the charge we made to despatch those goods to you.

Fabric and wadding is cut from large pieces specifically for your order. We do not therefore accept the return of these items unless we have made an error in processing your order and despatched the wrong item.

Once the goods have been received and inspected we will make a refund credit, as quickly as possible, to the same payment card account you used to pay for the purchase. We aim to process the credit within 14 days but have no control over the time it will take the card processing company to transfer the money back to your payment card account.

We do not accept returns of patterns.

If any item we despatch is defective or if we inadvertently send you the wrong item you may return these specific items to us unused and in good condition and we will send you a replacement and refund reasonable return postage/shipping costs provided you notify us in writing within 14 days of receipt of the goods. If we are unable to replace the goods we will refund the purchase price plus reasonable return postage/shipping costs.

duty, taxes and VAT

All prices on the website include the applicable rate of UK VAT (sales tax). Our UK VAT Registration number is: 893110824.

All goods are supplied directly from our UK premises.

We do not send goods outside of the UK.

shipping costs

We aim to despatch orders within 48 hours of receipt. Orders up to 1000g will be sent using Royal Mail First Class Post. Orders weighing more than 1000g may be sent as 2 parcels and, to keep postage costs as low as possible, Orders weighing over 1000g will be sent either by Royal Mail Second Class post or with a reputable courier.

We calculate our postage and packing costs based on the weight of your order. You will find, therefore, that adding more items to the shopping cart will not necessarily increase the shipping cost if the total weight of the order remains within the same postage weight band.

The shopping cart will automatically calculate the cost of postage and packing and add this to your invoice for orders up to 3kg. For weights in excess of this, the shopping cart will not be able to calculate the shipping cost. In these circumstances, we will calculate the shipping costs manually and confirm them to you before processing your order.

We are obliged to charge VAT on the postage & packing and the prices shown in the tables below include VAT.

If the full order cannot be fulfilled because an item is out of stock, shipping costs will be adjusted accordingly.

Please note that Royal Mail do not accept that a package is lost unless it remains undelivered 10 working days after posting, We are therefore unable to attend to missing deliveries until this period has ended. If your goods do not arrive within 14 calendar days of placing your order please notify us.

Non UK orders

We do not ship to countries outside the UK.
