about quiltessential

Quiltessential was opened by Ann Mayner in 2005 and was a popular and successful patchwork and quilting shop located at Arkwright's Mill in Cromford, Derbyshire. The shop closed in 2019 when Ann retired but, over 14 years, Ann and her husband Darren created an extensive range of quilt patterns which Ann taught as classes in the shop. The patterns prepared by Darren contain detailed instructions and illustrations; a selection of our most popular patterns are exclusively available to buy below.

We only ship to UK addresses and postage will be charged at £2.00 per order.

All sizes are in inches (1 inch is approximately 2.5cm).

security and personal data - website orders

In order for you to purchase goods from us over the internet you will be required to provide personal data. This information will be used to process your order and payment, to notify you that your order has been despatched and to communicate with you if there is a problem with your order. We need to keep a record of this data for business accounting purposes.

contact details

We use PayPal, an established, recognised, payment processor to transfer funds from your Paypal account or payment card to our PayPal account. When you click the pay now button you will be transferred to PayPal's secure website where you will be asked to confirm your address and payment card or PayPal account details. PayPal will email me to confirm that I have received payment and provide me with your contact details for shipping purposes. We will only use this information to despatch your order and will not divulge it to any third parties.

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a set of comprehensive requirements that all businesses that handle credit and debit payments must comply with. We use PayPal to process the payments you make. PayPal is PCI compliant and encrypts personal and financial data to ensure customers and merchants stay safe and secure online. You can pay using your PayPal account or with a credit or debit card. We do not receive or store any of your payment card information. billing and delivery address

In order to minimise the risk of credit card fraud we only despatch goods to the address to which the payment card or PayPal account is registered. If we suspect that a card may have been used fraudulently we will not process the payment or despatch the goods and we will notify the police and credit card company concerned.

You must ensure that you enter your address information accurately. We do not refund shipping charges if parcels are returned to us through no fault of our own - if the address provided by the customer cannot be found by the delivery company.

If you wish to contact us electronically using our website contact form you will be required to provide personal data including your name, phone number and email address. This information is required for us to be able to repond to you in the most appropriate way. The contact form information you provide is transmitted via our website, which is hosted by Ionos (https://www.https://www.ionos.co.uk/) on their secure servers and has enhanced security provided by SSL Certificate and SiteLock anti-malware protection. We receive the form information from the Ionos server as an email, which we read and respond to on devices protected by Norton security software. We will only contact you in reponse to your enquiry and you will not be added to any database or mailing list.

Your personal information is processed and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and we will not divulge any of your details to any other person or business. We may, however, be required to divulge details for law enforcement purposes if requested to do so by an appropriate authority.

orders placed

By placing an order on this website you, the customer, are making an offer to Quiltessential to purchase the advertised products at the listed price and give Quiltessential authority to despatch those products and take payment from your credit/debit card.

When you conclude your order you will be required to submit your credit/debit card details and contact information via a secure server. Payment will be debited automatically from your payment card at this time, however, we only accept your offer when we conclude the contract of sale by despatching the product(s) to you.

Quiltessential reserve the right to decline your offer to purchase goods from us without giving a reason. In these circumstances we will notify you of our decision to decline your order and any payment already taken will be refunded.

Quiltessential accept no liability for any consequential loss that the customer may suffer due to delays in shipping or should, for any reason, the ordered goods not be despatched.


issues with a pattern order

If you have any problems with an order please contact us and we will try to help.

We do not accept returns of patterns.

If any page is missing we will send you the missing page.

Although very unlikely, if we inadvertently send you the wrong pattern you may return it to us unused and in good condition and we will send you the correct pattern and refund reasonable return postage/shipping costs provided you notify us in writing within 14 days of receipt of the incorrect item.

duty, taxes and VAT

Quiltessential is not registered for VAT.

All goods are supplied directly from our UK premises.

We do not send goods outside of the UK.


shipping

The cost of shipping will be displayed in the shopping cart when you add an item to it.

We aim to despatch orders within 48 hours of receipt.

Please note that Royal Mail do not accept that a package is lost unless it remains undelivered 10 working days after posting, We are therefore unable to attend to missing deliveries until this period has ended. If your goods do not arrive within 14 calendar days of placing your order please notify us.

Non UK orders

We do not ship to countries outside the UK.
