In order to process your order and payment we need to gather both personal and payment card information from you. This information is gathered and processed using the RomanCart secure server. We comply with the Payment Card Data Industry Security Standards and all card information is destroyed after your payment has been processed.

Data is processed and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and we will only disclose your personal data with your explicit permission. We will ask if you want to be added to our Emailing List and we will only add your details to this list if you have given your permission. If you subsequently ask to be removed from this list, we will honour your request. We do not divulge your personal data to other businesses.

conformity of goods

We work very hard to ensure that the product photographs on this website are accurate representations. However, we must point out that the image you see on your monitor may vary slightly in colour or tone from that seen on another monitor or from the item itself due to variations in computer hardware and software such as the brightness setting on your monitor. Also, some images on this website depict representative samples and not necessarily the exact item for sale but wherever this is the case, we make this clear to you. Internet shopping for fabric may be more convenient but for exact colour matching or to appreciate the differences in quality and texture between various manufacturers' fabrics a visit to the shop is recommended. We will happily try to answer any questions you may have prior to purchasing if you email us or telephone during shop opening hours.

duty, taxes and VAT

All prices on the website include the applicable rate of UK VAT (sales tax). Our UK VAT Registration number is: 893110824.

For non-UK orders, any duty, tax or VAT that may be levied in the destination country is the sole responsibility of the recipient. We will not pay or refund any such levy or refund any UK VAT included in the purchase price.

The declared value on any customs declaration form that we complete will be the true value of the goods. We will not fraudulently declare a lower value.

returns and cancellation policy

We hope you will be happy with your purchase from us but if you are not you may return your goods to us for a full refund in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations. To do so, you must notify us in writing (email is acceptable) within 7 days of receipt of the goods that you wish to cancel the order. You must then return the goods to us, unused and in good condition.

It is your responsibility to ensure that items are returned with adequate packaging, postage and insurance, if required. Please note that return postage/shipping costs will only be refunded if it is clear that the product was defective when dispatched from our shop or if the wrong product was sent in error. If only part of an order is defective then only that part of the order needs to be returned to us for replacement/refund.

workshops cancellation policy

Workshop places are limited and are sold in advance. As we still have to cover the cost of the tutor etc, whether you attend the workshop or not, we do not refund your tuition fee if you fail to attend. If you notify us at least 28 days prior to the date of the workshop that you are unable to attend we will attempt to resell your place. If we do so, we will credit you with the fee paid to allow you to book another workshop of your choice. If, however, we cannot resell your place your fee will be forfeited.

postage and packing

We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours of receipt. UK orders up to 1.25kg in weight will be sent using Royal Mail First Class Post. UK orders weighing more than 1.25kg will be sent Royal Mail Standard Parcel. We calculate our postage and packing costs based on the weight of your order. You will find therefore that adding more items to the shopping cart will not necessarily increase the shipping cost if the total weight of the order remains within the same postage weight band.

For packages up to 6kg (UK orders) and 2kg (non-UK orders) the shopping cart will automatically calculate the cost of postage and packing and add this to your invoice. For weights in excess of this the shopping cart will not be able to calculate the shipping cost. We will therefore agree this with you before processing your order.

We are obliged to charge VAT on the postage & packing and the prices shown in the tables below include VAT.

If the full order cannot be fulfilled because an item is out of stock, shipping costs will be adjusted accordingly.

In order to minimise the risk of credit card fraud we only dispatch goods to the address to which the payment card is registered. If we suspect that a card may have been used fraudulently we will not process the payment or dispatch the goods and we will notify the police and credit card company concerned.

If this occurs we will not hesitate to forward the card and contact information provided by you to the card company and the police.

Quiltessential accept no liability for any consequential loss that the customer may suffer due to delays in shipping or should, for any reason, the ordered goods not be dispatched.
