Quiltessential is a specialist fabric shop, which is located within the mill yard at the historic Arkwright's Mill in Cromford Derbyshire. There is level access into and throughout the shop.
We sell a wide
range of quality cotton fabrics for use in patchwork and quilting, dressmaking and other textile crafts. We also
sell wadding (batting) and cotton sateen as well as notions and equipment
including: rulers, templates, rotary cutters, cutting mats, sewing thread,
Pelon, Bondaweb, buttons, ribbon, bag making accessories, books, magazines and patterns.
Our patchwork and quilting fabrics are carefully selected, high thread count, finely woven cotton from leading manufacturers. We sell a wide variety of colours and designs from plains through to exquisitely patterned and colourful Kona Bay Japanese fabrics. We have bright modern prints, soft florals, reproduction designs and a large range of black and white. We also stock an extensive selection of Moda Bella Solids plain fabrics and blenders from the Jinny Beyer Palette.
We now have around 400 fabrics listed on this website but this represents less than 20% of our shop stock.
The shop at Arkwright's Mill was opened by Ann Mayner in 2005 and
has a growing reputation for providing a friendly and helpful service
to our customers. We were the first patchwork and quilting shop
to feature as Patchwork & Quilting Magazine's Retailer of the Month
for 'outstanding customer service'. We are happy to help customers
choose fabrics for their projects and Ann has a wealth of technical
knowledge gained over many years of quilting.
Within the shop there is a dedicated teaching area where workshops
and classes take place with projects suitable for various skill
levels from beginner to advanced.
All of the quilt patterns we sell have been designed by Ann's husband,
Darren Mayner, and are exclusive to this shop. We are also one of a limited number of UK retailers of Lazy Girl bag patterns. |
